Tower Defense X: BETA Endless Mode Tier List

Path rankings for the hardest standard mode and exponential enemy scaling.

Endless Tier List

Endless Mode is Tower Defense X’s ultimate scaling exam. Waves 1–40 introduce resist-heavy enemies and returning bosses—Plague Doctor, Eradicator, Revived Plague Doctor, Eradicator MK II. Beyond wave 40, exclusive bosses every ten waves (Eradicator MK IV, Eradicator MK I Combat, Apex Predator, Calamity) can destroy towers in seconds. Shields inflate enemy HP until damage cash vanishes. The run ends at wave 201 with an Endbringer horde.

This tier list ranks paths by late scaling, not early convenience. Read the Tier List Hub for general S/A tiers, Expert Tier List for shared boss tools, and Best Loadouts for team templates. Map Strategy determines whether Warship and water towers hit S-tier or stay benched.

Endless ranking criteria

We score paths on damage scaling past wave 100, shielded enemy handling, boss burst windows, tower survivability under Calamity-style deletes, economy over 200 waves, and co-op specialization value.

S-tier Endless paths

Golden Juggernaut — Mandatory for pushes past wave 130. Bullet resistance ignore and raw boss DPS outperform Juggernaut when shields stack.

EDJ (both paths) — Discounts fund endless upgrade taxes; top-path range keeps short-range bosses in Golden Juggernaut reach. Multiple EDJs are common in coordinated teams.

Railgunner bottom path — Piercing line damage on straight post-40 segments. Requires stealth reveal and EDJ investment; falls off if under-upgraded before wave 80.

Warship — S-tier on water maps with long sightlines. Provides sustained DPS when land towers lose placement to boss attacks.

XWM Turret — Placement-dependent powerhouse alongside Warship for late Endless. Requires map knowledge from Map Strategy.

Farm — Consistent wave income across 200 waves. Often duplicated in co-op (double Farm openings) before transitioning to late DPS.

Laser Gunner — Stealth and armored enemy answer in pre-40 waves; remains relevant for Avatar and Eradidog mini-boss windows.

Medic / Shield Tower / War Machine Factory — Support tier that becomes S-tier past wave 100 when boss delete mechanics peak. Medic keeps Golden Juggernaut alive through Calamity rotations.

A-tier Endless paths

Missile Trooper — Strong through wave 40; scaling caps compared to Golden Juggernaut. Still A-tier for resist bypass in mixed waves.

Toxicnator / Artillery — Horde and shield chip damage before primary boss killers activate.

Mobster bottom path — Supplemental economy when shielded enemies block cash gain.

John top path — Amplifies Railgunner and Golden Juggernaut stacks; bait bodies absorb random boss shots.

Refractor / Behemoth Factory — Nightmare-adjacent factories that climb toward S-tier in community Endless clears when unlocked.

B-tier Endless paths

Juggernaut (non-golden) — Viable until wave 100; replace with Golden Juggernaut for serious records.

Barracks / Patrol Boat — Too slow to scale; water maps only, outpaced by Warship.

Sniper — Air and mini-boss helper; not a primary scaler.

Operator / Shotgunner — Early horde tools sold or ignored after wave 50 in optimized runs.

Cryo Blaster — Stall without scaling damage; B-tier at best.

C-tier and avoid

Cheap spam towers, und upgraded Rangers, and paths without resist bypass or scaling abilities waste slots past wave 60. Do not run Elite-style no-Farm strats—Endless upgrade curves demand economy.

Phase breakdown

Waves 1–40: Build diverse resist coverage—laser, explosion, bullet bypass via Missile Trooper and Laser Gunner. Establish Farm and first EDJ.

Waves 40–100: Rush Golden Juggernaut or Warship max upgrades. Add Medic before Eradicator MK IV rotations at wave 50.

Waves 100–130: Boss delete mechanics peak—Shield Tower, spacing, and ability timing matter as much as DPS. Community clears plateau here without Golden Juggernaut.

Waves 130–201: Incremental upgrades, Calamity and Apex Predator pattern memorization, and co-op role lock. Endbringer wave is a DPS check—save abilities and Encore buffs.

Co-op Endless meta

Typical four-player split: two economy/support (Farm, EDJ, Medic), one Golden Juggernaut anchor, one Warship or XWM Turret map specialist. Communicate boss spawn timers ten waves ahead.

Transition from Expert

If Expert clears feel comfortable, do not copy the same six towers—Endless punishes missing scaling. Replace Juggernaut with Golden Juggernaut, add Warship on water maps, and budget double support after wave 80.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What towers do I need to pass wave 130 in Endless?

Golden Juggernaut, Warship or XWM Turret on suitable maps, EDJ support, and Medic or Shield Tower for boss delete survival are community standards.

Does Endless Mode actually end?

Yes. Endless ends at wave 201 with an infinite Endbringer horde that wipes defenses. There is no wave 202 in standard Endless.

Why is Farm S-tier in Endless but skipped in Elite?

Elite grants high damage cash over short runs. Endless spans 200 waves with escalating upgrade costs—wave income from Farm compounds.

How do shielded enemies affect tier rankings?

Shields block cash gain and inflate HP. Towers with sustained DPS, resist bypass, and boss burst (Golden Juggernaut, Railgunner) rise; stall-only towers drop.

Is Missile Trooper still good in Endless?

A-tier through mid Endless for resist bypass, but Golden Juggernaut and Warship outscale it past wave 100 for primary boss damage.
